About

My name is Dawn. I currently serve as a School Council Co-chair at York Memorial Collegiate Institute. I am not employed by the Board, nor do I hold a stake in the building…I simply want to do everything I have and use the skill-set I’ve developed to involve as many people as possible to try to affect change and create the best learning opportunities for the students of this school.

I have skills. I’m not going to list or explain them here. (There are other public social media sites that have my information, and others that I keep private to protect my friends and family. I’m not afraid if you Google me.)

I am not afraid of your questions – they keep me sharp – but I do offer you respect and expect the same from you. No matter who you are. We can disagree, but we need to get over the barriers and reach agreements because we are adults, and this is an important thing we are trying to do.

Don’t make assumptions about me or my life and I will not make the same for you. We are all trying to get through this. Note: I currently have a highly variable schedule that includes day, evening and weekend hours so responding to emails or post replies may not happen as you predict . Be kind – I will respond (if necessary).

Due to the projected timeline of the modified Pupil Accommodation Review, I anticipate that the purpose of this blog, and my participation will be limited to summer 2020.
